Stephen Street
Vice President of Network Software
As Vice President of Network Software, Stephen oversees the management and engineering of the company’s network software. Having held several leadership positions with leading-edge technology companies, Stephen brings more than 20 years of software management and engineering expertise. Prior to Grid Net, he was the Founder and CTO of StreetFire Sound Labs.
In the 90’s, he founded Red Rocket Computing, a consulting firm specializing in network applications. Major projects included the development of TCP/IP application protocols that enabled secure real-time settlement of Euro-bond trades for a major international bank, and the development of client/server applications for managing the order provisioning process for one of the nation’s largest long distance telecommunications providers. Stephen also served as the Vice President and Chief Engineer at ICOMNET/Esprit Telecom where he managed the design, implementation and successful deployment of WorldFAX, a distributed store-and-forward facsimile system that utilized an international TCP/IP network to substantially reduce the cost of facsimile transmissions between Europe and the United States.
Earlier in his career, Stephen developed distributed applications for a variety of Department of Defense weapons systems. On Northrop’s Advanced Technology Bomber program (B-2), he developed high-fidelity avionics simulations used for integration and test of the B-2’s flight-control, navigation, and weapon delivery subsystems.
Stephen holds a B.S. in Computer Science from California State University, Sacramento, with an emphasis in Systems Software.
