Vision

Our Smart Grid vision: smart devices everywhere, to manage energy resources.

Soon, there will be a connected network of “smart” devices in every home and office, to enable utilities and their customers to optimize and manage energy resource access and consumption.

Making this vision a reality is challenging. It will require transforming the existing energy grid into a networked Smart Grid. For utilities, this means:

  • Leveraging the existing transmission & distribution infrastructure of meters, capacitor banks, switches, transformers, reclosers, etc.
  • Reducing carbon footprint and carbon output
  • Satisfying regulatory requirements
  • Continuing to innovate with demand response programs, new services, new ways of distributed generation, and with new forms of energy, including solar, wind, etc.
  • Meeting changing, growing customer needs

To make the Smart Grid happen, utilities should demand leading technology that is built on open, proven standards.

Utilities (and their customers) deserve a Smart Grid that leverages the best efforts of a collaborative ecosystem of vendors, all working to deliver leading technology at the lowest possible cost, with the highest levels of performance.
