Vice President of Software Engineering
As Vice President of Software Engineering, Will is responsible for development of the company’s suite of network management server products. A proven leader with more than 15 years of inter-networking, security, and distributed systems software development experience, Will has focused the last 8 years of his career on developing advanced smart grid technologies. Prior to joining Grid Net, Will held various software development leadership roles at Unisys, SmartPipes, Xerox Global Services, and Silver Spring Networks. Will’s expertise covers a broad spectrum of technology: from network, application and platform security; to public key infrastructures and identity management; to policy-based network management; to highly-scalable and highly-available distributed systems design and development; to service-oriented architectures and systems integration; to Internet routing, switching and quality of service protocols; to advanced metering and distribution automation. Will is also a leading expert in the design and deployment of 4G wireless broadband, wired broadband, and HAN networking technologies.
Will actively contributes to smart grid interoperability standards development as a member of IEC TC57 WG14, NIST Cyber-Security WG, SGIP WGs, UCAIug, OpenSG UG, WiMAX Forum Network WG, and IEEE 802.16p WG.
Will earned a B.S. degree in Structural Engineering from the University of California, Davis, and performed post-graduate work in Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley.
